I've never seen any doujins that had only one tag on them... People need to tag more things.

There's various reasons for this.

1: uploaders are not required to manually tag their uploads, upload system will import tags it has on exhentai and moderation only requires people to remove/swap the ones that have diffrent criteria here and fix the ones where importer autocorrects them into diffrent tags (like Tail->Tail Plug).

2: Moderation has gotten a lot stricter since I started doing it, Shirou is good and Kaizuki is decent but a lot of their older uploads as well as most stuff from from demo, Puru and Philemanmania just to name the 5 biggest ones, have been approved times when moderation was less demanding on tags and at times just really lazy.

3: new tags are added over time, ex can take ages to thoroughly add them to galleries uploaded before the tag existed, we've been just as bad. I make a big deal out of ensuring someone will take that responsibility when new tags are added but even then most of that work ends up on (my) backlog, can be hard enough just to keep up with new stuff. As this gets worse the older the content is, it also mostly applies to the same people as above but Puru uploads are the worst by a stretch.

4: Tag import mentioned earlier only imports tags it has on exhentai at that time as a base, which sucks if someone uploads before ex is done with the foundation.

5: Everyone with an account here can check up on the forums tagging guide and tagging, but most people just assume someone else will do it or at most leave a comment that I'll notice when cleaning the spam and harassment out of recent comment page.

yeah, though that applies to incorrect tagging more so than lacking tags, lack of tags is generally just really really old stuff, the batch of stuff site started with is particularly bad, a lot of it barely being tagged at all, and never went through the moderation that user submitted uploads have to go through, this initial batch makes up about 99% of Purus uploader tag.

The best way to deal with bad or insufficient tagging is to just read the rules on tagging and familiarize yourself with tag descriptions(most stuff is straightforward don't just make assumptions, people will occasionally get Loli and Pettanko or Gaping and Stretching mixed up because they don't read descriptions, some size stuff like Huge Breasts has specific requirements listed)and just make the edit yourself. Make sure to include page numbers if it would require mods a lot of searching or reading to find (we're not exactly excited to read 300 page tanks just to see if the scat tag applies somewhere).

I'll get to your edit when I do my daily moderation and approve it if its fine, if its not I'll tweak it before approval or reject it and comment what was wrong if I have time.

Getting edits approved without needing corrections from me will increase editor level on your profile and you might even end up in the top contributors page at some point.
